Good News

I am the way (Jesus) [B. Jordan: Unsplash]There is Good News in the middle of all the bad in the world.  Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah) has made the way for us to have eternal life in heaven with God!

You see, if you look at your own life and your desires and habits, you will see you have many faults as we all have. Those faults separate us from the holy God of the universe (Romans 3:10).  In His justice, God must punish all wrongdoing (sin).  But He is also a loving graceous God who would rather send His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sins rather than have no hope to redeem us from our fallen state (John 3:16-17). Only He is good enough to satisfy the sacrifice requirement for sin. In His death on the cross, He fulfilled the requirement of a permanent sacrifice for us (Hebrews 9:11-12).  He took our place--we should justly pay for our own sin and be condemned to eternal punishment.  You must accept by faith (an inner conviction without physical proof) that Jesus paid the sacrificial price for your sin, confess out loud that you are trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and ask Him to save you from your sinful state. When you do this, He will save your soul and give you eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). But He will also give you the desire to please Him and empower you to avoid sinning. You might sin again, but He will forgive you when you confess it (1 John 1:9).

Looking back at your life, do you see immorality or selfishness?  These are common and show our unworthiness of salvation from eternal punishment.  But the good news is that we can be saved by grace by having faith that Jesus is the Son of God, and His death was good enough to pay the penalty for our sins against God. If you see your broken state, being in need of a Savior, just call out to Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) to save you and accept His sacrifice for your sin (Romans 10:13).  You'll see changes come in how you think and in your attitude toward your own behaviors.  You'll start desiring to know God and want to read His Word (the Bible). You also should be praying to God to help you grow in your spiritual journey. God will send His Holy Spirit to guide you (1 Corinthians 3:16; John 14:16-17). If you are thinking "I don't know how to pray", just talk to God as you would your father, for He is your heavenly Father now and wants you to know Him more.

You can make it through all of the hard and dangerous things that will soon come upon the earth, but not without the Lord. The devil is working overtime to create his tyranical utopia that he rules.  Just look at Communist countries to see where the whole world is headed. Those people that do not belong to the Lord will perish at death. But we believers believe we will be with God the Father and Jesus Christ in heaven.

Praise the God of heaven for bringing us salvation from destruction through His Son!
